T2 VW camper, white smoke?

White smoke pouring out of a ‘73 devon. Air-cooled 1600, only 3000 miles on the clock…

If it’s winter it can often be nothing more than condensation. A 1973 T2 aircooled VW doesn’t have either headgaskets or a water based cooling system, hence the word AIRCOOLED. So it’s certainly not a gasket problem. They’re simple robust engines which is why they were so popular.

  2. White smoke means usually water into the gas. So I would say piston rings.

  3. Where are you? If it's winter it is prolly nothing but condensation. For everybody else a 1973 T2 aircooled VW doesn't have either headgaskets or a water based cooling system, hence the word AIRCOOLED in the question.
